Cory Hill's quiet generosity supports WA Race Week and Tahitian paddler

A Realization in Tahiti

Cory and Llani Hill experienced a profound realization after the Molokai Challenge, where Cory had secured his third title. While guests at Tahiti's Te Aito Surfski event, they reflected on their experiences. The French Polynesian paddling community, renowned for its hospitality, warmly welcomed the Hills, inviting them into their homes for meals and lodging. Traveling with their three young sons, this international racing trip became another cherished family memory.

This commitment to philanthropy is now evident at the Shaw and Partners WA Race Week in Perth. Through his accounting firm, CN Hill Accountants, Cory Hill has sponsored Mahana, a promising young Tahitian paddler, enabling him to participate in this major international racing event. Mahana has already competed in the Dr Benjamin Hewitt Sunset Surfski Series Races and is set to undertake the Rottnest Island crossing for the very first time.

Boosting Prize Money for The Doctor

This act of sponsorship is just one example of Hill's generosity this week. It was previously rumored that Cory had discreetly boosted the prize money for both male and female winners of The Doctor race. Despite a redistribution of the substantial $180,000 prize fund reducing the individual payout for this iconic race, Hill's personal contribution of approximately $5,000 ensured it maintained its status as the week's most lucrative event.

Gratitude for the Sport
