Pete Marlin 2017

The Biogen Pete Marlin Surfski Race is one of South Africa's best-loved ocean races, contested each year off East London in the Eastern Cape. Paddlers race a downwind course that usually starts or finishes at Glen Eden, Yellow Sands, Nahoon or Orient Beaches — typically 17–23 km depending on the wind.

Named in memory of Pete Marlin, the event draws local and international surfski paddlers for singles and doubles weekends, often including SA championship titles. Course direction and race-day beaches change with the forecast; always follow the organiser briefing.
