Hong Kong's Winnie Wong showcased exceptional skill to claim the women's surfski championship at the Asian Canoe Ocean Racing event held in Qingdao, China. The 38-year-old athlete delivered a truly commanding performance, securing a decisive victory at Shilaoren Beach.

Wong distinguished herself as the sole competitor in the women's category to complete the course in under two hours, clocking an impressive time of 1:58:52.15. Her remarkable speed established a significant lead over the rest of the field.

The podium saw a strong showing from Hong Kong, with Wing Yan Tang earning the silver medal with a time of 2:22:13.49. Singapore's Jin Yi Frances Leong secured the bronze, finishing in 2:25:55.94. Leong's strong finish prevented a complete medal sweep for Hong Kong, as Ka Lee Chan placed fourth.

Men's SS1 Race Highlights

In the men's SS1 competition, Lyu Weiwu emerged victorious, crossing the finish line in 1:49:24.65 to take the gold medal. Japan's Naoto Uchida put up a valiant effort, earning silver with a time of 1:49:43.35, just narrowly missing the top spot.

The bronze medal in the men's event went to Singapore's Yan Jin Lionel Lee, who completed the race in 1:51:00.17. Hong Kong's Ying Tang also competed strongly but finished just outside the medal positions, recording a time of 1:53:00.39.
