Voting opens for new ICF athlete committee

Participate in the 2017 ICF Athlete Committee Elections

All athletes are strongly encouraged to vote in the upcoming selection process for the new International Canoe Federation (ICF) Athlete Committee. This committee ensures the athlete's voice is heard in key decisions.

Committee Members and Appointments

The ICF Athlete Committee includes both appointed and elected members. For 2017, the ICF Executive Committee and Board of Directors have confirmed the following appointments:

• Hayley Jo-Nixon (South Africa) – Canoe Marathon and Ocean Racing
• Claire O’Hara (Great Britain) – Canoe Freestyle
• Tim Lodge (Great Britain) – Paracanoe
• Amanda Reynolds (Australia) – Paracanoe

Election for Canoe Sprint and Slalom Positions

The four remaining positions, specifically for Canoe Sprint and Canoe Slalom, will be decided by athlete votes at their respective World Championships:

• Canoe Sprint World Championships in Racice, Czech Republic
• Canoe Slalom World Championships in Pau, France

Voting Details

Voting will be open for four days at each championship:

• Canoe Sprint: August 23 – 26
• Canoe Slalom: September 25 – 28

All athletes competing at these World Championships are eligible to vote upon presenting their accreditation. The voting booth will be located in the athlete's area at the information office.

Among those involved in the committee or standing for election are Henriette Engel Hansen (Denmark), Alexander Slafkovsky (Slovakia), and Lucien Delfour (Australia).

We urge all eligible athletes to actively participate in shaping the future of the ICF Athlete Committee by voting.
