Athletes to Watch
Cory Hill (Australia)
Four-time world champion Cory Hill leads the Australian contingent. Despite his success in 2015, 2017, 2023, and 2025, a victory here would be his first in Europe. After a close second in 2024, Hill aims for a historic fifth title.
Kira Bester (South Africa)
Kira Bester seeks to replicate her emotional home-water victory in Durban. Her previous win came under immense pressure following the loss of her mentor, Peter Cole. At 24, Bester is a rising star ready to compete fiercely.
Rosemary Edwards (Great Britain)
Last year's sole European medalist, Rosemary Edwards, recently won both the women’s surfski single open and U23 titles at the Europe Canoe Ocean Racing Championships. At 21, this young Brit aims for gold on the season's biggest stage.
Course Information
The scenic Spanish coastline hosts the races.
- Race A (20km): From La Vila Joiosa to El Campello.
- Race B (20km): From La Vila Joiosa north to Altea, passing Benidorm.
An alternative triangular inshore race is planned for adverse sea conditions.
