ICF Opens Bidding for Global Paddlesports Events Through 2030

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) has officially commenced the bidding process for a wide range of its competitions, extending up to 2030. This includes the significant opportunity to host the inaugural World Paddle Games, a pioneering new event set to redefine global paddlesports.

Bidding Opportunities by Year

National Federations, host cities, and event organizers are invited to submit proposals for various championships and World Cups:

• 2027: World Cups in Canoe Marathon, Wildwater Canoeing, Canoe Ocean Racing, and Stand Up Paddling (SUP).
• 2028: World Championships for non-Olympic Canoe Sprint, Paracanoe, Wildwater Canoeing, and Dragon Boat.
• 2029: This year has no events awarded yet. Opportunities include the first Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships, and Canoe Slalom World Championships (part of the Brisbane 2032 cycle). Also available are World Cups in Canoe Sprint, Slalom, Marathon, SUP, Ocean Racing, Freestyle, and Wildwater Canoeing.
• 2030: The highlight is the chance to host the historic first edition of the World Paddle Games.

The 2030 World Paddle Games are envisioned as a monumental celebration of water sports, culture, and community. This flagship event will unite all ICF disciplines on a single global stage, complemented by a vibrant, city-wide festival. Emphasizing sustainability and social engagement, the Games aim to blend elite paddle sport with mass participation, maximizing the positive impact for host regions.

Submitting an Expression of Interest
