Dragon Boat's Olympic Aspirations

Regarding dragon boat racing, set for the Asian Games and a 2025 World Games debut, Konietzko highlighted its dual professional and recreational appeal. He discussed its potential Olympic inclusion, noting its unique blend of high-performance and recreation. Its Tokyo Olympics demonstration was a milestone, attracting IOC interest. Konietzko pledged that the ICF, with Chinese and other Federations, would work to convince the IOC to consider dragon boat as an Olympic sport.

Konietzko lauded China's growth into one of the ICF's strongest federations over the past decade in all aspects. He praised the professionalism of its organizers, coaches, and athletes, noting China's three medals in Tokyo. Describing China as a "country of water" where high-performance water sports thrive, Konietzko congratulated the Chinese Canoe Federation for its significant progress and demonstrated strength across many disciplines, commending its personnel's hard work.
