ICF and Rotomod Partner to Advance Global Paddle Sports

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) has announced a significant two-year partnership with Rotomod, a leading manufacturer of recreational watersport equipment. This collaboration aims to substantially boost the development of paddle sports worldwide, particularly in emerging regions.

Under this agreement, Rotomod will supply 15 high-quality boats annually for the ICF’s development programs. This provision is crucial for ensuring that participants in developing countries gain access to essential, world-class canoeing equipment, fostering growth and participation.

Rotomod is recognized globally for its diverse range of paddle craft, including canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), designed primarily for the recreational market.

Key Perspectives on the Collaboration

Sebastian Cuattrin, ICF’s sport development manager, highlighted the partnership’s profound benefits for the global paddling community. He noted the ICF's success in introducing paddle sports to various communities, many with limited resources, emphasizing that this agreement ensures participants receive both expert coaching and top-tier equipment.

Damien Garreau, Rotomod’s marketing and commercial director, viewed the ICF collaboration as a natural progression. He underscored Rotomod’s commitment to enabling outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy all forms of canoeing and kayaking. Garreau mentioned Rotomod’s focus on functionality, ergonomics, robustness, and comfort, and its annual production of approximately 15,000 boats distributed globally. He also detailed Rotomod’s environmental efforts, including recycling end-of-life boats into regenerated polyethylene.
