Europe's premier ocean paddlers are gathering on the Finistere coast of France for the 2026 European Ocean Racing Championship, two years after the event was held in the Azores. This prestigious competition will see athletes vie for continental honors across various categories.
The 2024 championships celebrated France's Hector Henot, who secured his first European Open title, and Spain's Judit Vergès Xifra, who claimed her third. This year, European titles will be awarded not only in the Open categories but also across Junior, U23, and Masters divisions (40, 50, and 60).
Fans can follow the two main races live. The SS1 race is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, at 12:30 PM local time, followed by the SS2 race on Saturday, August 29, also at 12:30 PM local time. Live streams will commence at 12:15 PM on the Paddle Europe YouTube channel.
French commentary for the YouTube broadcast and television coverage (to be aired next week on Sport En France TV) will be provided by local athlete Floriane Broustal and TotalPaddler founder Mathieu Astier. The event promises high-quality production, featuring drones, land and boat cameras, alongside GPS tracking to enhance the viewing experience.
