Bidding opportunities announced for ICF world championships and world cups

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) has officially commenced the application period for national federations interested in hosting various world championships and world cups during the 2027 and 2028 seasons.

Opportunities for 2027 Events

• World cups: Canoe Sprint, Canoe Slalom, Canoe Marathon, Canoe Ocean Racing, Stand Up Paddle (SUP), and Wildwater Canoeing.
• World championships: Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom, along with the Club Crew Dragon Boat world championships.

Opportunities for 2028 Events

• World championships: SUP, Dragon Boat, and Wildwater Canoeing.
• World cups: Seven of the ten ICF disciplines are available for bids, including Canoe Sprint, Canoe Slalom, Freestyle Canoe, Canoe Marathon, Canoe Ocean Racing, SUP, and Wildwater Canoeing.

Furthermore, all events from 2029 onwards remain unallocated and are currently open for proposals.

Bidding Process Overview

The initial stage of the bidding procedure involves submitting an online expression of interest. Following this, prospective hosts will be provided with a template for the Hosting Agreement. The subsequent phase requires the completion of a detailed, discipline-specific bid questionnaire. For a bid to be deemed complete and eligible for review, it must include a fully answered questionnaire, a comprehensive event budget, and a signed Hosting Agreement. All completed bid documents should be sent to the designated ICF email address and the relevant committee chairpersons.
