The International Canoe Federation experienced an extraordinary year, marked by significant accomplishments both on and off the water. This review highlights the most memorable moments and triumphs across canoe marathon, stand-up paddling, canoe ocean racing, and dragon boat events in 2024.

Canoe marathon highlights

The 2024 season saw incredible performances. Sweden's Melina Andersson showcased remarkable resilience at the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships in Metkovic, Croatia. Despite paddle damage, she secured two gold medals, winning the women's kayak single short distance and overcoming Hungarian champion Vanda Kiszli in the K1 long distance with a stunning comeback.

Denmark's Mads Brandt Pedersen also achieved a notable K1 double, claiming both the men's short and long distance titles. Both Andersson and Pedersen continued their success at the ICF Hangzhou Super Cup, earning additional golds and securing quotas for their nations at the Chengdu 2025 World Games.
